Known for their regular attendance at the event, Carol and Michael had already made their debut this year at the 4th of July pageant. The quarterfinals on July 10th saw several members of the royal family in attendance, including Queen Camilla, Peter Phillips, and Zara Tindall. Their presence, alongside Kate’s parents, has sparked optimism that Princess Kate herself might grace the tournament to present trophies to the winners.
Since marrying Prince William in 2011, Princess Kate, 42, has been a frequent attendee at Wimbledon. However, she did not make a public appearance this summer as she continues to prioritize her health privately.
Seated in the front row of the royal box on July 4th, Princess Kate’s parents were next to Debbie Jevans, Chair of the All England Club. Earlier in June, Jevans had indicated to Telegraph Sport that organizers would afford the Princess of Wales maximum flexibility regarding the possibility of trophy presentations during her ongoing cancer treatment.
In 2016, Queen Elizabeth appointed Kate as the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, an honor that includes presenting prizes to the champions. Jevans expressed hope that Princess Kate would be able to fulfill this role, emphasizing that her health and recovery are of utmost importance.
Kate’s only public appearance this year was at Trooping the Colour on June 15th. Recently, she paid tribute to Andy Murray on social media as the tennis star concluded his Wimbledon career.
