recalled the first moment that she met Prince Harry during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix show in 2022.
Meghan Markle began dating Harry back in 2016, with the pair tying the knot just two years later. The couple have now been married for six years and share two children together – five-year-old Prince Archie and three-year-old Princess Lilibet.
Speaking of the moment Meghan told her that she was “going out with” the royal, Doria said: “When she told me, we’re on the phone and she says, ‘Mummy I’m going out with Prince Harry’. I started whispering ‘Oh my god!'”
Doria, who celebrates her 68th birthday today, then recalled her first meeting Harry and noticing him being a “handsome man with red hair”.
Discussing their first meeting Doria said: “I remember when I first met him (Harry) too, a 6’1 handsome man with red hair, really great manners.

“It was just really nice and they looked really happy together, like he was the one. Once it was announced that they were together it seemed kind of like a novelty.”
In his bombshell memoir Spare, Harry revealed that he first met Doria in London and the trio went for a drink at their “favourite place” in Soho.
Harry wrote: “We were celebrating Doria, celebrating being together, and doing it all at our favorite place, Soho House at 76 Dean Street.
“That dinner with Doria was wonderful, but I look back on it now as the end of the beginning. The next day, the pap photos appeared, and there was a new flood of stories, a new surge along the many channels of social media. Racism, misogyny, criminal stupidity – it all increased.”

Harry first met Meghan in London in 2016, during the former actress’s visit for Wimbledon.
During their engagement interview in late 2017, Harry gave fans an insight into the early days of dating Meghan. The royal, who will celebrate his 40th birthday later this month, said: “We met for a drink, and then I think very quickly into that we said, ‘Well, what are we doing tomorrow? We should meet again.”
Doria is also said to share a sweet bond with her grandchildren. She has previously been described as a “wonderful” grandmother and is “very hands-on” with Archie and Lilibet.
